A few links to start the month:
I examined if self-publishing is really worth in my monthly Adventures in Indie Publishing column for Nerds Feather.
Along those same lines, Chuck Wendig wrote an amazing post on what self-pulished authors need to do to get over the stigma of being, well, self-published authors. He hits on a lot of points I have raised and agree 100% with, mostly relating to the ‘gatekeeper’ issue. Read it, it’s spot-on.
I also wrote a thing for BookSnobbery about Middle Earth and world building.
My fellow author and friend-up-until-yesterday E. Catherine Tobler wrote about how authors should, you know, get paid by those who say they will pay them. OK, we’ll always be friends- her initials are and ampersand. How can I resist? You should also read her stuff.
